Daily Mass Reading for Tuesday, March 18th 2025

As today is Tuesday, March 18, 2025, during the Second Week of Lent, the Catholic Mass readings are as follows:

First Reading: Isaiah 1:10, 16-20

In this passage, the Lord calls upon the leaders and people, metaphorically referred to as “princes of Sodom” and “people of Gomorrah,” to cleanse themselves of evil deeds, seek justice, and defend the oppressed. He assures them that though their sins are like scarlet, they shall become white as snow if they are willing and obedient.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 50:8-9, 16bc-17, 21, 23

Response: “To the upright I will show the saving power of God.”

This psalm emphasizes that God desires sincere righteousness over ritual sacrifices and calls out those who recite His statutes but disregard His teachings. It concludes with a promise that those who live rightly will witness God’s salvation.

Gospel: Matthew 23:1-12

In this passage, Jesus addresses the crowds and His disciples, warning them about the scribes and Pharisees who preach but do not practice. He advises them to follow their teachings but not their actions, highlighting the importance of humility and service over seeking honor and titles
